Knowledge, Ideas, Execution…

The other day I was thinking about a few things related to how our company adds value. We often call ourselves “problem solvers”, but I was reading something on the internet and someone mentioned that being a problem identifier is more valuable. Everyone is a problem solver. Some are better than others. And we like to think we are really good at creative problem solving. What isn’t as easy is problem identification. This is an area where it really is worth partnering with our team to help identify problems related to your organization and plans.

The same expertise and process we bring to designing solutions can be used to identify opportunity, see problem areas, or drill to the core of what’s really preventing you from getting to where you want to be. Once we’ve identified the problem or problems, then we can start building a plan to fix them.

For example, yes we can design your new product, but what if you’re unsure of what your new product should be? You’re an expert in your business but we have to be pretty close to being experts in a lot of businesses. That means we take a fresh eyes approach to your business. We are curious, and we couple that curiosity with our knowledge of other industries, the marketplace, brands, organizations…along with your expertise and we work with you to craft meaningful strategy that builds your business and takes advantages of holes in the marketplace. We want your business to succeed because of our partnership. In theory that means you’ll keep working with us…repeating problem identification, solutions, success, etc.

Another thought I had was around our traditional saying of our services: insights, strategy, and design. This is what we do but I wanted to go a little deeper as to how we add value, and say that in more approachable terminology. So I scribbled down “knowledge, ideas, execution”.

Insights really are about knowledge. We have a ton of data and trends out there and it takes a team like ours to track that information down and make meaning out of it.

Strategy is all about ideas. Taking all that information and coupling it with imagination and a drive towards making the world a better place. We are idea people. We connect game changing dots that others can’t even see or aren’t looking for.

And no idea is worth a darn if it can’t be executed. What we imagine, we know how to make it happen. You’re not paying for ideas that can’t be executed. Our design solutions can be manufactured, our processes can be implemented.

Ultimately, we are more than just product or experience designers, we are a critically important partner that helps you identify problems, and ultimately solve them through shared knowledge, creative ideas, and expertise execution.
